This made a bigger difference than I expected. My cat tends to kick litter everywhere and the shield has cut that down so much. It keeps the area around the Litter-Robot way tidier and just makes everything feel more contained.

Cat Litter Shrapnel Defence
The shield and included cat flap prevent our more enthusiastic cat from kicking out cat litter onto the floor while she does her business. There is still some spillage from when she leaps out of the Robot with great speed and purpose (post-**** zoomies), but nothing can save us from that.
