The Waveshare Uninterruptible Power Supply UPS HAT (B) for Raspberry Pi, 5V Output, up to 5A Current, Pogo Pins Connector (EU) is an advanced power management solution designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi series, including models 3, 3B+, and 4B. This device ensures seamless power delivery to the Raspberry Pi, either from an external power source or backup batteries, with a high current capacity of up to 5A. The integration of pogo pins allows for efficient power transfer without occupying GPIO resources.

This UPS HAT features real-time monitoring of battery voltage, current, power, and remaining capacity through I2C bus communication. It incorporates multiple battery protection circuits, including safeguards against overcharging, over-discharging, overcurrent, short circuits, and reverse polarity, ensuring a stable and secure operation. Additionally, the device includes an equalizing charge feature to maintain battery health.

The onboard 5V regulator provides a continuous power output, sufficient for the Raspberry Pi and other connected devices via a 5V USB output. Battery warning indicators are present to facilitate easy verification of correct battery connection. The UPS HAT is capable of charging batteries while simultaneously supplying power, automatically switching to battery output if the external power source becomes unavailable, thus preventing system interruptions.

Note: Li-ion and Li-po batteries require careful handling to prevent fire, injury, or damage. Ensure compatibility with the expansion board and avoid mixing old and new batteries or different brands.
