The Waveshare RM500U-CNV 5G HAT for Raspberry Pi, Quad Antennas LTE-A, Multi Band, 5G/4G/3G (EU) is a sophisticated module designed to enhance networking capabilities by supporting 5G, 4G, and 3G connections. It integrates a wide range of network protocols and is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Android. This module is equipped with a USB 3.1 port, which is also compatible with USB 2.0, facilitating high-speed 5G communication. Additionally, it features a standard M.2 B KEY slot that accommodates various 5G modules, including the RM500U-CNV series.

The HAT is engineered for ease of use, featuring onboard UART, power, and reset control pins, along with a built-in voltage level translator. It includes a USB-C connector for a standalone power supply, ensuring stable and flexible power management. The module is equipped with a power supply on/off switch, a reset button, and an LED indicator to simplify operation and monitoring. It supports dual SIM card slots with single standby, which can be switched via AT command, and boasts a high-efficiency power supply circuit capable of delivering up to 3A output current.

Designed for compatibility with the Raspberry Pi series and Jetson Nano, the RM500U-CNV 5G HAT supports a stackable design, allowing for the integration of additional HATs. It also facilitates cloud communication and supports multi-constellation high-precision GNSS, although GNSS functionality is not available for the RM500U-CNV module. The inclusion of a high-speed cooling fan enhances heat dissipation, and the module offers multiple installation methods suitable for various applications, including industrial use, 5G wireless routers, and live streaming.
