The Waveshare RM500Q-GL 5G HAT for Raspberry Pi, Quad Antennas LTE-A, Multi Band, 5G/4G/3G (EU) is a versatile module designed to enhance connectivity through support for 5G, 4G, and 3G networks. It integrates a wide array of network protocols and is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Android. This module is equipped with a USB 3.1 port, which is also compatible with USB 2.0, facilitating high-speed 5G communication. Additionally, it features a standard M.2 B KEY slot, making it compatible with various 5G modules.
The HAT includes essential control pins such as UART, PWR, and RST, and a built-in voltage level translator that can be enabled via a DIP switch. It also has an onboard USB-C connector for a standalone power supply, along with a power supply on/off switch, reset button, and LED indicator for monitoring the operating status. The dual SIM card slots support single standby and can be switched via AT command, while the high-efficiency power supply circuit provides up to 3A output current.
Designed for global use, excluding the US, the RM500Q-GL 5G HAT operates within a temperature range of -30 °C to +70 °C and supports a broad spectrum of frequency bands for 5G NR NSA, 5G NR SA, LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, and UMTS WCDMA. It also supports multi-constellation high-precision GNSS, including GPS, Beidou, Glonass, and Galileo.
The module is user-friendly with multi-system support and can be connected to a PC or Jetson Nano series using a USB cable, or to Raspberry Pi models using a dedicated USB adapter. It features a standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO header and a stackable design for additional HATs. A high-speed cooling fan is included for effective heat dissipation, making the module suitable for applications such as a 5G wireless router or live streaming with camera support.
