Thymio comes out of its box already assembled, so you can start it up in a matter of seconds. With its 6 pre-programmed behaviours, you can discover what it can do in no time. Whether you're following a line, avoiding obstacles or following your hand, Thymio already knows how to do a lot of things.

With the Thymio VPL software, based on the Aseba suite, you can program Thymio intuitively with blocks of images. By combining events and actions, you can change Thymio's behaviour with just a few clicks. Scratch and Blockly offer the widely used and proven system of block programming, allowing complex behaviours without the constraints of typing and syntax.

Thanks to the pre-programmed behaviours and the many programming interfaces available in the Thymio suite (VPL, VPL3, Scratch, Blockly, Aseba Studio) or through complementary software (Python, ROS), Thymio can guide you from absolute beginner to the understanding of complex robotic alogrithms. To guide you through these interfaces, there are a number of teaching resources developed for this little robot.

Wireless Thymio only needs its dongle to be programmed. There's no need to keep plugging and unplugging the cable. What's more, with Thymio VPL's visual feedback, you can better understand how your programme works in real time.
