The SparkFun Wireless Joystick Kit (Not Supported on Windows 7/8) provides an innovative solution for controlling XBee projects. Traditional radio-controlled projects often rely on hobby RC transmitters, which can be either non-customizable or prohibitively expensive. This kit offers a customizable and cost-effective alternative for those seeking to control their projects uniquely.
Featuring the SAMD21 onboard, the kit requires assembly and the addition of an XBee and lithium-ion battery into the provided sockets. It can be configured with dual joysticks for enhanced RC steering, suitable for robots like tanks, or with a single joystick and four 12mm momentary pushbuttons, reminiscent of older game consoles. The kit includes a built-in LiPo charge IC (MCP73831) and a fuel gauge (MAX17043). Comprehensive assembly instructions and a tank-steering motor controller tutorial are available to assist users.
