The SparkFun Serial MP3 Player Shield - MY1690X-16S (Qwiic) transforms any Arduino into a standalone audio player capable of playing MP3 and WAV files from a microSD card. This shield utilizes a serial UART port for control and supports memory cards up to 32GB formatted to FAT16 or FAT32. Audio output is facilitated through a TRRS connector, and a USB-C connector allows easy mounting of the microSD card to a computer. The shield includes ESD protection diodes and a resettable fuse for safety, along with status LEDs for power and playback monitoring.
