The Snapmaker 1064nm Infrared Laser Module for Engraving (Artisan) is designed to cater to a variety of engraving needs on both plastics and metals. This module is equipped with a built-in sensor that ensures safety by ceasing operations if an incorrect installation or tilting of the laser head is detected. It is compatible with the Snapmaker 2.0, Artisan, and Ray series, and is particularly adept at fine work on metals and detailed processing on plastics. The module achieves precise engravings without overheating or melting the material, although it is not designed for cutting metal. It does support the cutting of 0.5mm black ABS plastic sheets and black acrylic.

The engraving process is streamlined through the use of the Luban software, which allows for the selection of points A and B to define a rectangular area for precise graphic placement. The focus can be manually adjusted for optimal clarity by using the focus lever to touch the material, ensuring flawless results. While the module does not support camera capture, it does facilitate precise graphic placement during engraving through the AB position feature. Additional accessories may be required to enhance the functionality of the module depending on the printer model.

The use of enclosures and laser safety goggles is strongly recommended when operating this infrared laser module to ensure safe working conditions. These items are not included in the module and should be acquired separately.
