The Sherline 18-Inch NexGen Benchtop Mill XY Base (Inch) is a precision-engineered component designed for advanced milling applications. It features an 18-inch mill base and an extended mill table, providing ample space for a variety of milling tasks. The base is equipped with zero adjustable handwheels on both the X and Y axes, allowing for precise control and adjustments. These handwheels are complemented by laser-engraved aluminum collars, ensuring accuracy and ease of use.

An integrated oil reservoir on the X/Y axes enhances the smooth operation of the mill, reducing friction and wear over time. The travel capacity of the mill is substantial, with the X-axis offering 8.65 inches and the Y-axis providing 11.0 inches of movement, accommodating a wide range of milling projects.

For those seeking additional protection and durability, optional upgrades are available for the Y-axis. These include a brass tube cover for the rear and an accordion way cover for both the front and rear, safeguarding the leadscrew from debris and damage. The mill can also be paired with a Rigid Mill Column Base for enhanced stability, although it is important to note that the round column base of the 8-direction mill is incompatible with this setup.
