The Sherline 10-Inch Tabletop Mill XY Base with Zero Adjustable Handwheels (Inch) is an integral component of the 5500-series tabletop mill, designed to provide precision and reliability for milling tasks. This base features a 10-inch mill base and a 13-inch mill table, offering a substantial platform for various milling operations. The handwheels on the X- and Y-axes are resettable and zero adjustable, each equipped with laser-engraved aluminum collars to ensure precise adjustments and measurements.
An oil reservoir is incorporated into the X/Y axes, facilitating smooth and efficient movement during operation. The travel capacity of the mill base is 8.65 inches on the X-axis and 3.0 inches on the Y-axis, allowing for a wide range of motion and versatility in milling applications.
For enhanced protection and maintenance, optional upgrades are available for the Y-axis leadscrew cover. These include a brass tube cover for the rear of the Y-axis and an accordion way cover for both the front and rear of the Y-axis. These upgrades help to safeguard the components from debris and wear, ensuring longevity and consistent performance.
