The Sherline 10-Inch Tabletop Mill XY Base (Inch) is an integral component of the 5000-series tabletop mill, designed to provide precision and reliability for various milling tasks. This base features a 10-inch mill base and a 13-inch mill table, offering ample space for a range of milling operations. The handwheels on the X- and Y-axes are standard 1-5/8 inches in size, equipped with laser-engraved aluminum collars to ensure precise adjustments and ease of use.
An oil reservoir is incorporated into the X/Y axes, facilitating smooth and consistent movement during operation. The travel capacity of the mill base is substantial, with the X-axis allowing for 8.65 inches of movement and the Y-axis accommodating 3.0 inches. These features collectively enhance the functionality and versatility of the mill base, making it suitable for both amateur and professional milling projects.
Optional upgrades are available for the Y-axis, including a brass tube cover for the rear and an accordion way cover for both the front and rear. These enhancements are designed to protect the leadscrew and improve the longevity of the mill base. However, it is important to note that the Mill Column Base (P/N 50050) is required to utilize the brass tube cover effectively.
