The Sherline 10-Inch Tabletop Mill XY Base DRO (Inch) is a precision-engineered component designed for use in milling applications. This base is an integral part of the 5000-series DRO tabletop mill, featuring advanced digital readout capabilities. It is equipped with DRO handwheels, encoders, and sensors, which facilitate precise control and measurement during milling operations. The handwheels are specially designed with a 2-inch diameter and are positioned on the Y-axis leadscrew and X-axis table feed screw. These handwheels can be electronically reset to zero, enhancing the accuracy and ease of use. Each handwheel is complemented by laser-engraved aluminum collars, ensuring durability and precision.

The mill base measures 10 inches, while the mill table extends to 13 inches, providing ample space for various milling tasks. The travel capacity of the mill is 8.65 inches on the X-axis and 3.0 inches on the Y-axis, allowing for a wide range of movement and flexibility in machining operations. An oil reservoir is integrated into the X/Y axes, ensuring smooth operation and reducing wear over time.

Optional upgrades are available for the Y-axis leadscrew cover, including a brass tube cover for the rear and an accordion way cover for both the front and rear. These enhancements offer additional protection and longevity to the mill components. However, it is important to note that the digital readout box is not included with the base and must be acquired separately to utilize the full capabilities of the DRO system.
