The SeeedStudio Industrial Soil Moisture & Temperature Sensor MODBUS-RTU RS485 (S-Soil MT-02A) is a robust and durable device designed for precise monitoring of soil moisture and temperature. It is particularly suitable for applications such as water-saving irrigation, greenhouse management, and other professional environmental monitoring scenarios. The sensor operates within a wide range of soil moisture from 0% to 100% saturation and temperature from -40℃ to +80℃, making it versatile for various industrial environmental sensing needs.
This sensor integrates two functionalities into one device, measuring both soil moisture and temperature with high precision and sensitivity. It utilizes the dielectric constant of the soil to provide stable volumetric water content measurements, independent of soil type, and adheres to international standards for soil moisture measurement. The device is IP68-rated, ensuring its robustness and suitability for long-term use in diverse environmental conditions.
The sensor is equipped with hook-up wires and is compatible with the SenseCAP LoRaWAN® Data Logger, facilitating low-power and long-range communication. It supports the MODBUS-RTU RS485 protocol and 0~2V analog voltage, offering flexibility in data communication. The device is designed with reverse voltage protection, ensuring safety and reliability in its operations.
Note: Version 1 of this soil sensor supports the RS485 protocol, which is now retired, and replaced by this current one: Version 2, supporting RS485 protocol and 0~2V analog voltage. If you purchased the product before April 2021, it's version 1, and please refer to user manual V1.0; else, please refer to user manual V2.0.
