The Seeedstudio 5-in-1 SenseCAP S500 V2 Compact Weather Station is a sophisticated device designed to measure air temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, and wind direction using ultrasonic technology. This compact weather sensor is ideally suited for use in challenging environments such as outdoor settings, agricultural landscapes, and smart cities.
The device is characterized by its industrial-level design, capable of operating in temperatures ranging from -40 to +85 °C. It boasts an IP66 rating, indicating its resistance to water and dust, making it particularly suitable for outdoor scenarios. The device utilizes an RS485 (MODBUS-RTU) / SDI-12 output interface and features a thermostatically controlled heating system, enabling its use in extremely cold environments.
The weather station comes with a 3-meter cable for pole mounting and is equipped with radiation shields to ensure accurate ambient measurement. The ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensors operate without moving parts, enhancing the device's durability and reliability. The SenseCAP ONE series, to which this device belongs, employs the RS 485 (MODBUS-RTU) / SDI-12 communication protocol, making it compatible with any data logger that supports RS485 (MODBUS-RTU) / SDI-12. Despite its robust features, the device maintains a lightweight design, weighing only 2 kg.
