Maximum effective distance: up to 50mm
Includes external antenna
The Seeedstudio 125KHz RFID Module - UART is designed for reading code from a 125KHz compatible card with read-only tags and read/write card. It can be applied in office security, home security, personal identification, access control, anti-forgery, interactive toy and production control systems, etc. This Seeedstudio 125KHz RFID Module - UART supports external antenna which is included. The maximum effective distance is up to 150mm.
Features:
Supports external antenna
Maximum effective distance up to 150mm
Less than 100ms decoding time
UART TTL interface
Support EM4100 compatible read only or read/write tags
Built-in external bi-color LED and buzzer driver
Small outline design
Note: The module will notify whenever 125khz tag approaches, tag serial number will be send via TX pin. This is an easy way for a RFID module on MCU projects or PC connection via UartSB.
Speedy delivery and product works great. Unlike other RFID solutions, this works straight from the box with no software setup required.

Easy to integrate with Arduino
This is a RDM360 (not to be confused with the lower quality, multi-read RDM3600). Integrates easily with Arduino using a single I/O (2 I/O if you want to use interrupts). Antenna is small but provides detection distance of about 2-3cm with standard tags.

Great Little No-Frills RFID
I have purchased 15 of these so far and love them. You have to keep in mind that the range is about 1 cm so they are best if the card or fob is swiped very close to the antenna. I use the mated fobs and cards and I never found a repeated code,
