The Pololu 7.5V Step-up/Step-Down Voltage Regulator S8V9F7 is an efficient switching regulator designed to convert both higher and lower input voltages to a stable 7.5V output. It operates with input voltages ranging from 1.4 V to 16 V, achieving typical efficiencies between 80% and 90%. This regulator is particularly suitable for battery-powered applications where the battery voltage may fluctuate above and below the regulated output voltage.
The device includes features such as under-voltage lockout, over-current protection, and thermal shutdown to prevent damage from overheating. Additionally, a soft-start feature limits inrush current and gradually ramps up the output voltage during startup.
