Provides range reporting for objects in its field of view
Supports USB and UART interfaces
The OmniPreSense OPS241-B FMCW Distance Radar Sensor is complete short-range FMCW radar sensor providing range reporting for objects in its field of view. All radar signal processing is done on board and a simple API reports the processed data. Flexible control over the reporting format, transmit power and module power is provided.
The OPS241-B sensor supports both a USB and UART interface. It can be connected to any smart USB host (Raspberry Pi, Android device supporting OTG, PC or Mac) to enable an IoT sensor. Depending on the USB host’s ability, further processing and/or communication to the cloud can be performed for further data analysis or networked action.

Good Product
The OmniPreSence distance radar module is a wonderful product although we had a little trouble getting it to talk to our computers. We were able to eventually get things up and running using portions of Python code from GitHub. That being said, once we established communication, the radar module worked amazingly well. I would strongly recommend this product if you want a very sensitive distance sensor for a wide angle of view. I would not recommend this sensor if you need a narrow field of view in which case LIDAR would be a better choice. That being said, I will be purchasing two additional modules in order to create a 180° proximity sensor by offsetting the sensors such that their angular dispersions overlap. The only negative was some difficulty trying to figure out how to communicate with this device but as this is a newer product, I'm confident that on-line supports will become more readily available for those new to this device. Four and half stars out of five!
