The Motoron M2H24v14 Dual High-Power Motor Controller for RPi w/ Soldered Connectors is a sophisticated device designed to manage DC motors via a Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer) through an I²C interface. It is capable of supporting motor supply voltages ranging from 6.5 to 40 V and can consistently deliver output currents up to 14 A for each motor. This particular model is equipped with aluminum standoffs and comes with pre-soldered stackable headers and terminal blocks.

The M2H controllers are ingeniously designed to stack atop a Raspberry Pi, akin to a HAT (Hardware Attached on Top). This design allows for multiple controllers to be stacked, facilitating independent control of numerous motors. The Raspberry Pi communicates with the Motoron using I²C, requiring only two GPIO pins, irrespective of the number of Motorons connected.

The M2H24v14 controller is capable of supporting motor supply voltages from 6.5 V to 40 V, with an absolute maximum limit. It is not intended for use with 36 V batteries. It can consistently deliver output currents up to 14 A per motor. The M2H24v14 stands out from other M2H controllers due to its smaller discrete MOSFETs and the number 100 on top of the tall silver electrolytic capacitors.

The controller is equipped with two motor control channels for independent control of up to two bidirectional brushed DC motors. It also features reverse-voltage protection on motor power supply, a logic voltage range of 3.0 V to 5 V, and a control interface with an I²C clock speed of up to 400 kHz. Other features include configurable motion parameters, current sensing, configurable hardware current limiting, a command timeout feature, configurable automatic error response, motor power supply (VIN) voltage measurement, two status LEDs, motor direction indicator LEDs, and a Motoron Python library for easy use with Python or MicroPython.

Note: For higher-current applications, it is recommended to opt for an unsoldered version of the controller and then solder thick wires directly to the board.
