The Motoron M1U550 Single Serial Motor Controller (Header Pins Soldered) is a compact device designed to control a single DC motor using a UART serial interface. This controller can be used in conjunction with multiple other Motoron controllers on the same serial bus, thus facilitating the expansion of a system with additional motors. The M1U550 is compatible with motor supply voltages ranging from 1.8 V to 22 V and can deliver continuous output currents of up to 1.8 A. This particular model comes with pre-soldered headers.

The Motoron M1U550 controller is designed to facilitate the control of a single bidirectional, brushed DC motor using an I²C or TTL serial (UART) interface, respectively. Measuring 0.6 x 0.6 inch, it is compatible with motor supply voltages ranging from 1.8 V to 22 V and can deliver continuous output currents of up to 1.8 A. Multiple Motoron controllers can be configured to operate on a single I²C or serial bus, thus enabling independent control of numerous motors. The Motoron controllers are unique in that they do not require any PWM outputs or timers on the microcontroller. Instead, a single I²C or UART interface is all that is needed, regardless of the number of Motoron controllers connected.

The M1U550 model features a TTL serial (UART) interface and comes with pre-soldered headers. It is equipped with a single motor control channel, which allows for the control of one bidirectional brushed DC motor per Motoron. The controller supports a wide motor supply voltage range of 1.8 V to 22 V (absolute maximum), with a maximum output current per motor of 1.8 A continuous, and 5 A peak for less than one second. It also offers reverse-voltage protection on the motor power supply (down to −20 V), and a logic voltage range of 3.0 V to 4.9 V (5V nominal not recommended). The control interface includes M1T550: I²C (up to 400 kHz) and M1U550: non-inverted TTL serial (up to 250 kbps). The controller also features configurable motion parameters, PWM frequency, a command timeout feature, configurable automatic error response, motor power supply (VIN) voltage measurement, two status LEDs, motor direction indicator LEDs, and an error output for easier detection of error conditions. The compact size of 0.6 x 0.6 inches makes it a convenient choice for various applications.

Please note that the 5V nominal voltage is not recommended for the logic voltage range.
