The M5Stack ATOMIC GPS Base M8030-KT - Multi Satellite System Navigation Module is a specialized GPS positioning module tailored for integration with the ATOM series main controller. It features the advanced M8030-KT positioning navigation chip and comes with an internal FLASH memory for enhanced functionality. The module is further enhanced by a button cell battery that maintains user configurations even when power is not supplied.

This module is adept for a variety of uses, including the viewing of geographic coordinates, making bus stop announcements, aiding in vehicle and marine navigation, and monitoring trajectory tracking. It delivers precise positioning information, which is essential for these applications. The ATOMIC GPS Base communicates positioning data through the NMEA-0183 protocol, a widely accepted standard in GPS data exchange. It is compatible with an array of satellite systems such as GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, SBAS, and QZSS, and boasts a 72-channel search capability for accurate and reliable satellite signal acquisition and tracking.

Additionally, the module features a MicroSD card slot situated beneath the GPS module, providing the capability to read GPS or other file data directly from a MicroSD card. This feature enables users to export GPS data in specific formats for analysis or visualization of movement trajectories using map software. The module can also serve as a conventional card reader, facilitating file access and management.

For optimal communication with the ATOMIC GPS Base, the following UART parameter settings are recommended: a baud rate of 9600bps, a start bit and stop bit each of one bit, and no parity bit.
