The Inventables X Carve V2 1000mm Kit w/ Dewalt Motor is a GRBL supported CNC milling machine with a maximum milling area of 750mm x 750mm x 65mm and a tolerance of 0.075mm. The speed of the Dewalt spindle can be adjusted between 16,000 rpm and 27,000 rpm, allowing for the machining of wood, plastics and soft metals such as aluminium.
What is new in the V2 version?
The V2 version has been upgraded with 9mm belts and 3 new 212 oz in NEMA 23 stepper motors that provide up to 50% more torque. The Z axis has also been improved with a direct drive configuration that eliminates the drive belt and increases accuracy and reliability, reducing additional adjustments and maintenance. The rack spacing has been increased from 2.5 to 4.5 and the width of the passing sheet has been increased from 34.75 to 37 . This unique shape keeps the dust cover in the X/Y position and the chips in the working area of the machine.
Special Features
The integrated automatic leveling function allows for a tolerance of up to 0.075mm. The user is supported by the software, which makes the handling of the machine easy even for inexperienced users. The powerful DeWalt spindle enables the machining of different materials with a maximum size of 750 x 750 x 65mm, including wood, aluminium, various plastics, such as PP, PC, ABS, PA6 and many more, as well as leather and PCBs. The inventory is controlled by the X Controller, which is based on a GRBL firmware, and in combination with the user friendly Easel CAM software rounds off the system. Easel was developed by the developers of the X Carve and is perfectly adapted to the CNC milling machine. Furthermore, no previous knowledge of subtractive manufacturing methods is necessary. The graphical interface guides the user through all parameters to be configured and suggests recommended values.
The X Carve is popular due to its wide variety of materials. In addition to the usual soft materials, such as various woods and plastics, metals such as copper, aluminum and brass can be processed with very high precision. However, the right milling cutter and appropriate feed rates and traverse speeds must be taken into consideration for successful machining.
