The Evil Mad Scientist Tripod Mount for NextDraw/AxiDraw is a robust adapter designed to facilitate the attachment of NextDraw or AxiDraw machines to a tripod. Precision-crafted from a solid block of anodized 6061-T6 aluminum, this mount offers two standard tripod mounting points with 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 threads. It is compatible with specific models, including Bantam Tools NextDraw 8511 and 1117, as well as various AxiDraw models such as V3, V3/B6, V3/A3, V3 XLX, SE/A4, and SE/A3 manufactured from April 2019 onwards.
The installation process is straightforward and requires no additional tools beyond those provided by the machine. For models with a silver-colored aluminum extrusion base, the existing foot pads must be removed to attach the plate to the captured nuts on the bottom surface. For models with a black-colored machined aluminum base, the adapter attaches directly to the tapped holes in the machine base.
Note: Due to the size and weight of the NextDraw or AxiDraw, it is strongly recommended to avoid using the 1/4-20 thread for anything other than light-duty, well-balanced applications.
