The Dragino LDS12-LS LoRaWAN LiDAR ToF Distance Sensor (3000mAh Li-Ion & Solar Panel / EU868) is an advanced sensor designed for Internet of Things applications, utilizing Time of Flight technology to measure distances. It is capable of detecting objects as close as 10 centimeters and as far as 12 meters, with varying accuracy depending on the range. This sensor employs laser induction technology to provide precise distance measurements, making it suitable for a variety of applications including horizontal distance measurement, parking management, object proximity detection, intelligent waste management, robotic obstacle avoidance, automatic control systems, and sewer monitoring.
The device communicates wirelessly by uploading distance data to a LoRaWAN IoT Server, leveraging LoRa wireless technology to achieve long-range communication with low data rates. This ensures high interference immunity and minimal power consumption. The LDS12-LS is equipped with Bluetooth configuration capabilities and supports wireless over-the-air updates, enhancing its user-friendliness. It is powered by a combination of a solar panel and a 3000mAh Li-ion battery, designed to sustain long-term operation for up to five years.
Each unit is pre-configured with unique keys for seamless LoRaWAN registration, allowing for automatic connection to a local server upon activation. The sensor is built to withstand harsh environmental conditions, with an operating temperature range from -40 to 85°C and an IP65 enclosure rating, ensuring durability and reliability in various settings.
