The DFRobot IBeacon Module (Bluetooth 4.0) is a Bluetooth low energy device that broadcasts its identifier to nearby portable electronic devices, enabling smartphones, tablets, and other devices to perform actions when in close proximity. Applications include distributing messages at specific Points of Interest and indoor positioning systems. It comes with a dedicated iOS app, LightBeacon, for configuring the module and detecting iBeacons according to Apple standards. The module features a TI CC2541 chip, customizable UUID, Major, Minor, radio intervals, and transmit power, supporting ITU detection and OAD technology for wireless firmware updates.
