The BlueRobotics BlueROV2 Machined Buoyancy Foam is specifically designed to enhance the buoyancy of the BlueROV2 underwater vehicle. This foam significantly improves the stability and lifting capacity of the vehicle, making it an ideal choice for underwater robotics applications. It is engineered to withstand depths of up to 300 meters, providing reliable performance in both shallow and mid-water environments.
Constructed from LAST-A-FOAM® R-3318, this buoyancy foam is known for its machinability and resistance to hydrostatic pressure. Its closed-cell structure prevents water penetration, ensuring durability and longevity. The foam is also resistant to various fluids and resins, making it suitable for use in resin-transfer molding processes. Additionally, it is biologically inert and resistant to oil, grease, and solvents, ensuring it does not rot or decay over time.
The foam is machined to fit seamlessly into the BlueROV2 fairing, maximizing the available buoyancy and adding 500 grams of additional buoyancy to the vehicle. This enhancement not only increases the payload capacity but also contributes to the overall stability of the ROV. The foam's compatibility with various adhesives and its performance in both freshwater and saltwater environments make it a versatile and cost-effective solution for underwater applications.
