The 52Pi N05 M.2 2242 PCIe NVMe Extension Board for Raspberry Pi 5 is a specialized peripheral designed to enhance the capabilities of the latest Raspberry Pi 5 by leveraging the new PCIe interface. This extension board allows for the installation of NVMe M.2 SSDs, enabling rapid data transfer rates and ultra-fast boot times. It is tailored to fit the standard HAT dimensions of the Raspberry Pi and accommodates two sizes of NVMe SSDs: 2230 and 2242. The inclusion of SSD mounting screws facilitates the ease of switching between these two sizes.

This product is specifically engineered for the Raspberry Pi 5, ensuring seamless compatibility. It supports the installation of NVMe (M-key) drives without the need for soldering, thanks to the extra custom CNC SSD mount screw. The PCIe x1 interface is compatible with both Gen2 and Gen3 standards, ensuring a broad range of operational flexibility. The boards hollow design not only complements its aesthetic but also serves a practical purpose by providing excellent ventilation and airflow for cooling. Superior electrical performance is guaranteed by the use of gold-plated PCBs, which also feature ultra-short signal lines for reliable and fast PCIe 3.0 signal requirements. Additionally, the board is equipped with LED indicators to monitor M.2 disk activity.

The board adheres to the original Raspberry Pi HAT dimensions, ensuring a perfect fit with existing setups. It also includes an integrated voltage regulator capable of delivering up to 3A for the 3.3V power rail, in compliance with the M.2 (NGFF) standard. To further enhance its functionality, the PCB has been designed with cutouts to facilitate the routing of Display/Camera FPC cables.
