All of these need to know their exact location indoors or outdoors, in urban or rural settings. To achieve this, Fixpositions sensor fusion engine combines GNSS observations, camera images, IMU measurements, and wheel speed information to create an optimal pose estimate. Visual odometry is used to extract important points (visual features) from camera images, which are then tracked across multiple images to calculate the cameras movement. The RTK Global Navigation Satellite System, with two dual frequency receivers, is used to determine the absolute position and orientation of the sensor. Errors in the GNSS systems are corrected using RTK technology, which is calibrated using data from virtual reference station (VRS) networks or local base
