The Dragino MDS120-LB LoRaWAN Microwave Radar Distance Sensor (8500mAh Li/SOCl2 / EU868) employs advanced Microwave Radar technology to accurately measure distances between the sensor and various objects. Unlike ultrasonic or Lidar technologies, this sensor is particularly effective in environments with condensation or dust, maintaining accuracy even when covered with water or thick dust. It is suitable for applications such as horizontal distance measurement, parking management systems, object proximity and presence detection, intelligent trash can management systems, robot obstacle avoidance, automatic control, and sewer monitoring.

This sensor utilizes LoRaWAN wireless technology, enabling it to transmit data over long distances at low data rates. It offers ultra-long-range spread spectrum communication with high interference immunity while minimizing power consumption. The device supports Bluetooth configuration and wireless over-the-air updates, enhancing its ease of use. Powered by an 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery, it is designed for long-term operation, potentially lasting up to five years.

Each unit is pre-loaded with unique keys for LoRaWAN registration, allowing for automatic connection to a local LoRaWAN server upon activation.
